Job Summary:The Pastry Prep Cook ensures the high quality product is prepared from our bakery. This individual bakes and ensures proper finished consistency of all desserts per the exact recipe specifications. The Pastry Prep Cook is responsible for all aspects of their assigned station – sets up and stocks product, bakes and cooks according to Barton G recipes. Also cleans, sanitizes and maintains equipment, utensils and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures that all kitchen equipment and facilities are in good working order and are properly maintained.

Follow restaurant policies, procedures and recipe standards.

Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume and cooking production.

Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.

Prepares items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.

Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use.

Understands and enforce federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.

Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift.

Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy.

Education:High school education or equivalent. Culinary training or accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
